Goulash, Midwestern Style
This simple ground beef tomato sauce served over macaroni noodles is ready in 20 minutes. Using bone broth in the sauce adds belly-supporting collagen to keep you satisfied and comfortable. This recipe can be made gluten-free when you use gluten-free noodles.

Ingredients
- 1/2 pound ground beef We use 90% lean; the choice is up to you!
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp dried thyme
- 1/4 tsp paprika we recommend sweet instead of smoked
- 1 small clove garlic, minced
- 15 oz can or jar of tomato sauce
- 3/4 tsp Worcester sauce
- 3/4 cup Taking Stock Foods Classic Chicken Bone Broth
- 2 tbsp full fat dairy use heavy cream for a creamier sauce; full fat Greek yogurt or sour cream for a tangier sauce
- 8 oz your favorite macaroni shaped noodles
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over a medium high flame (level 7 on electric stove).
- Crumble ground beef into the pan. Sprinkle the onion powder, thyme and paprika over the ground beef. Cook the beef and spices until the beef is browned and partially cooked through, about 6 minutes.
- Add the minced clove of garlic to the beef mixture and cook for 1 minute longer. Drain excess grease.
- Pour into the ground beef the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, Worcester sauce, and Classic Chicken Bone Broth. Continue cooking over medium-low heat until the consistency of the sauce no longer pools at the edges of the skillet, around 7 minutes.
- While your sauce simmers, prepare the macaroni noodles according to package instructions.
- When your sauce has the correct consistency, remove it from the heat. Add the dairy and stir in to combine.
- Drain your macaroni noodles and combine with the the beef sauce. Serve hot.
